The Goldfinch
by Donna Tartt

“The Goldfinch centers on 13-year-old Theodore Decker, and the dramatic changes his life undergoes after he survives a terrorist attack at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that kills his mother and results in him coming into possession of Carel Fabritius‘s painting The Goldfinch.”
I loved this book. I thought it was fantastically written. It is a big book and I didn’t rush trough any of passages, enjoying each paragraph. It has been compared to Dickens’ writing, it reminded me of Dostoevsky.
The Three-Body Problem
by Liu Cixin
“Earth encounters an alien civilization in a nearby star system that consists of three sun-like stars orbiting each other in an unstable system, an example of the three-body problem in orbital mechanics, giving the book its title.”
I liked this book, after reading it. The story kept coming back, it is a good story and I do want to read the following books. Reading it was not a pleasant experience and I had a hard time sticking to it. It felt very detached.
The Listening Path
The Creative Art of Attention
If you have read “The Artist’s Way”, there is no need to read this book. If you haven’t, read the Artist’s Way instead. I did not like this book and got tired of the dog and the salmon.
